According to Pixlee, A Social Media Influencer is a user on social media who has established credibility in a specific industry. A social media influencer has access to a large audience and can persuade others by virtue of their authenticity and reach.

As a social media influencer, you get to have lots of support from people who love your posts and are willing to share your perspectives. You and your followers get to enjoy huge discounts from brands that take you as an influencer, you get paid, and you also get FREE PRODUCTS just by posting on social media. So why not become an influencer, right?

How can I become a Social Media Influencer?

You need to have a niche

The common mistake that we all do is that we just post things that we feel like posting like a tree that looks beautiful and then post a cat that's cute. What most people don't know is that you need to have a specific theme for your account. If you like beauty, then just post about beauty. If you like nature then just post about nature. You need to minimize your post to one or two niche so people that like those niche can identify your account and possibly follow you.

Your profile picture counts

The first thing that other people see is your profile picture. If they see that it's good and interesting, they will visit your page. I bet you can relate to this everytime someone sends you a friend request you first look at the profile picture and if you get turned off by the profile picture you ignore the friend request. Make sure that your profile picture is interesting because it's one of the most important factors of social media.

Don't be afraid to ask people to follow your page

Just having a good profile picture is not enough. No one is gonna discover your page by just making one and letting it get discovered on it's own. You need to have the guts to tell all the people who know you to like and follow you even if it feels like it's embarassing just think of it as a challenge to becoming a persuasive influencer. You need to have confidence if you want to be an influencer and remember that once you have a large following you will achieve your dream of being a successful influencer.

Use Hashtags

People don't realize this but hashtags, especially in Instagram, is important because it helps in getting discovered in your chosen niche. For example, one of my niche is modelling so I use hashtags like #aspiringmodel #model and more so I can get discovered by models, photographers, and modelling agencies.

Schedule your posts

I have proof that this is true. I tried posting once a day and it gets lots of likes. Then I tried posting a lot of pictures all at the same time it got small amounts of like. You need to post the right amount at the right time to get most of the engagements that you possibly have.

Lastly, you need to have patience.

You won't get to be famous in just a short amount of time. It takes time so learn to wait and work hard in getting discovered. If you learn to wait you will just realize one day that you're already a successful influencer.
